Premiership Foreign Relations Head Gürsel Dönmez evaluated to ILKHA that the rise of extreme right-wing parties in the western countries, their possible reflections to their own countries and other countries.

Dr. Dönmez stated that presidency of Donald Trump, who was elected after the election in the US, has not yet been confirmed, it remains unclear how to implement a policy after he starts his job on January 20th.

Dönmez, “Trump, as we follow, will consist staffs form a militarist line. If the things reflected in the media happen that way, the danger of evolving into a more militarist language emerges from the language of diplomacy."

Dönmez pointed out that there might be a crisis in the European Union, added his words as "In the coming days, the presidential election will be held in Austria on December 4. And most likely the right-wing candidate will have won the presidency."

Dönmez stated that they have observed an axis shift within the European Union in the last 3-4 years. "There are shifting to extreme right in the main countries like Germany, Austria, and France. The next year will be election again in Germany, France and several other countries. And the sight that seems already is; in many countries, extreme right-wing parties will unexpectedly get high votes, perhaps leading to worrying public opinion around the world. This means that the near future of Europe seems blurred. General politics, diplomacy, there is a big question marks as to which direction international relations will flow."

"Europe can not cure people's troubles"

"We see that the emergence of modern nation-states and their global and regional systems as a whole are in a crisis," said Dönmez, who said that a higher-level example of the crisis Turkey faced on July 15th continued to appear on a global level and added, “We see that these systems cannot be a solution in the relations of the nations. They cannot cure people’s problems. We see that they have developed a system on the concept of otherization. We see that in the place where there is no other, they have made an effort to create another. We can see that the thoughts going against the European Union in the European Union will come to the governments.
